Im trying to build a way, how to derive from overtime hours regular working time. The rationale is that the regular working hours would be clearly visible.

Example: I enter overtime work info 18:00-21:00 (3 hours), and excel calculates that work start time must have been 09:30 and end time 18:00
Base is that it should add 8h+30 min as working time.

Another example, I enter overtime as 17-18 (1h), excel would calculate the start time as 08:30 and end 17:00.

I hope by logic is understandable :)

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Hi Henceman,

if
A1 = 18:00
B1 = 21:00
put formula in C1 =A1-TIME(8,30,0)
put formula in D1 =C1+TIME(8,30,0)
You will get your answer in C1 & D1
