How to link cells to each other by 2-way dynamic link?

Hello,

I want to link 2 cells to each other so that the user can enter a value in either cell, and the value is automatically copied to the other cell via a 2-way dynamic link. Is there any way to set this up without using VBA? I would be surprised if Excel does not have this capability, but I can't see how to do it...

Thanks for any help!

Best regards,
Kelvin

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
To be honest, I'd be surprised if Excel did have that capability! One or either of the cells must have a formula in it which links back to the other cell, but if you want to be able to key a value into either cell, that will overwrite any formula which is in it.

As far as I'm aware the only way you can enable a cell to send its value to another cell - rather than the other cell receiving the value by having a formula in it - is to use VBA.

I guess it couldn't be a formula-based link for the reason you stated, and also because it would give a circular argument error, with each cell depending on the other. Therefore, I'm assuming it would an event-based link whereby changing the value in one cell automatically changes the value in the other cell, and vice versa. I know this is possible in VBA, but was hoping this function/capability might be built into Excel itself, because it allows the user to control an input value from different locations in a workbook.

Anyone?

Yes, I think you summed it up: it would have to be event-based, and events are only accessible via VBA. If you decide to write it in VBA and need any help, give me a shout, but you sound as if you know how to do it already.
