Hello, I am trying to combine multiple files that are formatted the same. The name column will be my identifier for each record in the new table. When I combine, I lose that column. How do I keep the file when I combine. I tried Keep Columns, and that didn't work. I've done this before, and It was very easy to do, I just can't remember how.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Willy

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
What steps do you have after you click the Expand button? Most likely one of them removes the Name column.

The next step is Change Type 1. I've added a snap of the "Combine Files" dialog. PQ is not grabbing the FileName column from the beginning. I have done this before, I just can't remember how.

TIA
Willy

I found a post that I had submitted a while back with the answer. You are correct, it was a step after I combined files.
Thanks
