How to install 2003 addins (.xla) in Excel 2010?

Hello fellow Excel users,

I recently upgraded from Excel 2003 to Excel 2010. I have an add-in that I built in 2003 and backed up before my Excel upgrade, and I am wondering how to bring it in to Excel 2010.

It is an .xla file that adds an item to the now drastically re-arranged Options menu. Clicking on the menu item opens a UserForm where the user can choose one of three actions, each one involving opening certain kinds of text files and formatting them.

Can I even bring it in to Excel 2010 now that the Ribbon has replaced the old menus and command bars? How do I do this?

I have not yet found an Excel book that addresses migrating add-ins when you upgrade to Excel 2010. If someone could recommend one, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you to anyone who can provide some guidance.

Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
Try this:
Goto
-File
-Options
-Add Ins
-Go
You should then be able to browse for your add-in
