Hello,

(First; I have Office 2016 at home)

I want to run a statistical analysis on my photos that I have taken over the years to see what my most used focal lengths are.

The focal lenght in the EXIF data is available for windows explorer and can be seen like this:

In excel, I just learned that you can get some explorer details by going to Data --> New Query --> From File --> From Folder

However, that option is very limited, as excel dictates what details can be imported, and there is no option to change what details it should collect.
The only categories it allows me to import are the following; all of which I don't want nor need:

(Side-question:) Furthermore, whenever I click "combine and load", it only makes a list of 30 files, not all 100 that are in that folder. How to import the whole list that is visible in the preview window?

But regardless of the side-question: What is the most efficient method of getting that focal length-data from 1000s of images into excel?

  • Are there some plug-ins available?
  • Is there some tool I could download for windows?
  • Any way I could use visual basics prompt for this purpose? If so, how?

Thank you all in advance for any help with this.

Cheers!
