Hello Forum users,

I have an Excel database containing in one column hundreds of names with misspellings of all sorts. The problem is that I do not have a list of the correct names. Therefore, I need to identify all those names with a similar spelling, and have them grouped by index rate of similarity, in order to fix them manually later based on the biggest number of name string occurrences. Thank you in advance

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Or Power Query using fuzzy match might work. If you have it in your excel version available that is.
