Hi experts!!
I’m a new excel user and I am trying to figure out how to bend Excel to my will—haha! I tried searching, but I’m not sure how to really phrase my question.
Pic attached below. I have this spreadsheet started. I have created a drop down for each cell below c4-h4. The drop down for each cell consists of either yes or no. If a cell has a Y for yes, I want it to highlight the cell of the same row in column A one color. If a cell has a N for no, I want it to highlight a separate color. I’ve googled and found something on If statements, but I could not get it to work in this sheet. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Hi,

This video will help, ideally you need to set a conditional rule of =C4="word"

Then apply the conditional formatting to each row.

Welcome to the MrExcel board!

Is this the sort of thing that you are after?
If so, what should happen if there is a "Yes" and a "No" in the same row? (For example if "No" was now added in E6 below.) Or is that not possible with your data.

BTW, for the future I suggest that you investigate XL2BB for providing sample data to make it easier for helpers by not having to manually type out sample data to test with.
