Hi There

I'm new to excel and was wondering if you could help me :0

So I have a spreadsheet with 2 worksheets.

The one has 3 columns: Brand, Date, Traffic

The other one contains a table that should only show the traffic amount my website received based on the brand and date in the worksheet.

So in other words I need to write a formula that get's the traffic for a date and brand on that 2nd worksheet, which I specify in 2 cells on the 2nd worksheet.

So for instance on sheet 1, I have the brand in cell B1, the date in cell A1 and the traffic in cell C1.

Then on sheet 2 I have a cell for the traffic in Cell A1, which will hold the formula. I specify the date and brand the formula must match in cell B2 and C3.

The formula must also be able to change the values if another date or brand is specified.

I will appreciate it, if somebody can assist me with this.

Thx
Dave

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Hi,

Do I understand you correctly that you just want to look up the Traffic value where the Date and Brand match a criteria?

Hi

Yes, that is correct.

So I want to use the traffic value in one sheet for a graph, by extracting it from another sheet based on the criteria I specify in the formula.

Thx

Ok, is the traffic a numerical value? if so, you could try a SUMIFS

=SUMIFS(traffic_column,date_column,date_criteria,brand_column,brand_criteria)

if it's text, you could try this array formula

=INDEX(traffic_column,MATCH(date_criteria&brand_criteria,date_column&brand_column,0)) ---add this with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER, Excel will add {} around it
