How to fill cells under each Employee ID number

How do I fill the cells below each employee id number with the employee id number? I need to do a sort and don't want to loose my id numbers. Please see attached! Thank you!

Assuming Megan is in row 2 and cell B1 has a heading, try this with a copy of the worksheet
  1. Select the whole of column B by clicking the 'B' column heading
  2. Press F5 and select Special... -> Blanks -> OK
  3. Type =IF(C3="","",B2) and confirm with Ctrl+Enter, not just Enter
  4. Select the whole of column B by clicking the 'B' column heading and Copy/Paste Special -> Values

If you actually want the ID numbers to fill into the blank rows as well, then follow all the same steps as above but in step 3 use this very simple formula instead.

=B2
