How to deal with Time dimension (if time is not in dates)

Hi to All Powerpivot Lovers & Users.
My Question right away.

I have data of Sales in Tabular form.
Sales Amount is column X.
Year in Periods is Column Y.
Tabular data (table) does not contain Dates (2014/1/1 etc).
It contains Period 01, Period 02, Period 03 etc.
How can I create a YTD or a Quarter element if Q1 = P01 + P02 + P03?
or How can I create a YTD element if for e.g YTDP05 = P01 + P02 + P03 + P04 + P05?

Hi goesr - My data are mostly TABULAR on the follwoing example of format.
Area Manager - Salesman - Brand - product - category - period - Amount (these are columns) that I mean here
(where period is P01, P02, P03, P04 as values of the column of "period" etc.)
