How to create Avatar from photo

I am quite impressed by the avatar of 'Mr Excel' which I think has been created from his real photo.

Can any one tell us how we can make our own avatar like this from our photo.

If you have something like Photoshop or Microsoft's Photo Editor you can take the image and just have the program size it to the Board's specs.

It has to be 90 x 90 pixels and 6 Kb.

That cartoon of me is drawn by Nitrozac and Snaggy. They've done portraits of most of the Call for Help regulars. Prices start at $75, although you can pay a bit more and they will draw you with a bunch of different expressions.

I did it with Microsoft Photo Editor. You have to experiment to get the effect you want.
