How to calculate average length of service

I have 20 employees with their corresponding date of joining. How can i calculate the average length of service per employee as of todays date. Help please . thanks

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
I suppose you could create a column to calculate LOS (=StartDate-Today()), then use AVERAGE() on that column.

You can also use the array formula (confirmed with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER):

=AVERAGE(TODAY()-B1:B20)

where B1:B20 contain the employee start dates.
