Hi All,

I need to auto populate other cells based on the drop down list selection in excel

my drop down consists of data with colon(:) separated, and I need to auto fill another cell with the data

For ex. in Drop down user selected data One:Two:Three, in B2 (Column B and Row 2) I need to auto populate Three in C2 (Column C and Row 2).

Can any one help me with any formula which I can use for...

Regards,
Kishore.

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Copy and paste this macro into the worksheet code module. Do the following: right click the tab for your sheet and click 'View Code'. Paste the macro into the empty code window that opens up. Close the code window to return to your sheet. Make a selection in the drop down in column B.

Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
    If Intersect(Target, Range("B:B")) Is Nothing Then Exit Sub
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Dim vTarget As Variant
    vTarget = Split(Target, ":")
    Target.Offset(0, 1) = vTarget(UBound(vTarget))
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub
