how to allow only specific date format in a cell of excel
for example if i type dd/mm/yyyy or dd.mm.yyyy or dd-mm-yyyy format, cell should allow only dd/mm/yyyy format and should say some error message.

Data validation is an Excel feature that allows you to control which type of information is entered in a cell; "Date" is one of the types of data that can be set.
So, start the data validation process (this is in the Data tab), specify you want to "allow" only Dates, complete the other parametres (included the Input message and Error alert) and complete the validation.
Now the cell will only accept dates

If you prefer a specific format for the dates, format the cell with that format.
