I'm working on a spreadsheet for work. I have three columns I'm working with. One has names, the second has hours worked, and the third has the account it would come out of. I need the formula to add the hours worked if the names in the first column are the same, but it needs to not add the hours to the total if the third column says "CT".

Here's an example of what I'm looking for:

=SUMIF(A:A,"BIGGS",E:E)UNLESS(G:G="CT")

I've had minimal training with Excel and I'm doing the best I can, but I definitely need help.

Thank you!

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Thanks! I imagine this place is gonna be my new best friend.

I have another question relating to this. Is there a way to get the system to subtract the hours in the total if the account column says "CT"?
