How should I id duplicate values?

I'm getting an error message when I try to create a relationship in a data model "The replationship cannot be created because each column contains duplicate values. Select at least one column that contains only unique values." However, I have removed duplicates in the primary key column in my dimension table and the column distiribution statistics for that field have the same count (48662) in the count, distinct, and unique fields. How / why is this happening?

My best guess is capitalisation. Power Query is case sensitive; power pivot is not. First change the case to something you can live with, eg all uppercase. Also do a trim and clean. I would also recommend removing nulls and blanks as these can also trigger this error.
