Hi,

My name is Dan and i own an estimating business which i have been using an excel spreadsheet that someone previously built for me on Mr Excel as my knowledge is very limited.

My query is that i need this sheet to go even further and complete tasks that i have seen on software only but i am not sure how far excel can go before i need a software?

My sheet currently builts breakdowns on a summary page and when i click a button, it provides the tabs as required. I have a price list of 5000 parts that i want to be able to have available on any tab at any time.

I also need different reports printed to PDF from multiple tabs but i feel this is a hard question to ask without seeing it?

how do i move forward with finding someone that can work with me on this?

Dan

I've amended your link to point to the correct location. Please don't direct users to other help sites - it is, after all, against the rules.

It's not easy to visualise what you have at the moment but maybe if you explain a little more...?
In terms of producing a PDF only showing a number of tabs that is simple - click the first tab, press and hold Shift and click the last tab in the set and then (with the tabs you want to see in the PDF selected) do File / save as / PDF

In terms of parts details being available to any calculation in any tab that's a simple Vlookup statement (assuming every part has a unique identifier) - put all your parts on one sheet and then 'call' them into calculations or cells using that Unique identifier in a vlookup

Hi Miles,
i am after a powerful spreadsheet/desktop app which will do a few things and am trying to find someone who is happy to help out and built it with me. I complete electrical estimates with my spreadsheet but am growing and require additional items that require extensive code.
