Hi All,
I'm thinking of jacking in my job because it's turned from development into maintenance. I was wondering, there seem to be lots of GB£300/day vba contracting jobs (being a qualified accountant helps) around which are pretty tempting. I was wondering how stable contracting is as a career?
When I started out I did some contracting roles and I got the impression I was the only interviewed candidate so effectively walked straight in off the street. And when I saw a project coming to an end it always seemed easy to find a better job before the current one ended. At the time I thought I was lucky but in hindsight maybe it wasn't such a silly way of operating?
Does anyone else have experience of the contracting life? Do you find yourself with periods of unemployment between contracts (if so how long do they tend to last?)
Thanks,
Poiu
