Hello,

I have a few questions about get external data from web for Excel 2016 for Microsoft computers. I hope this isn't an inappropriate question for this forum. I am interested in doing a lot of get external data from webs on a regular basis and would like to know more about it before moving forward. Here are my questions:

Is the workbook accessing a website to refresh data anonymous?

How do cookies & caches work from the website being accessed by the Excel workbook? Would they be manageable from internet explorer or does Excel connect to the page using your internet explorer settings for cookies and caches?

What is the data connection between the Excel workbook and the website the data is coming from?

Thanks for your help.
