How do you unpin deleted Excel workbooks from the pinned list in the Windows Start menu?

I've tried clicking on the pin, right clicking and selecting unpin, trying to open the workbook and selecting the option to remove the shortcut. None of these works. There's always, but in this case, what is it?

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Office 2013 allows me to remove items from the pinned list when I select File - Open... Right click on the file name... and choose Remove From List.

I don't know how to do it any other way. Anybody else???

I just had this problem. I deleted the Excel workbook and then couldn't unpin. So I created a new Excel workbook with the same name in the same place. Then I unpinned and it worked. Then I deleted the newly created workbook.
