Or do a "Report post" action on that topic: that will reach a Mod for sure.

Users don't have the option to delete threads. You can however edit your own posts within 10 minutes of posting.

The report button is typically used to report spam, advertising, abusive behaviour etc.

You can contact a moderator, but we may be reluctant, especially if the thread contains multiple posts and others have invested their time to assist.

It does depend on the reasoning behind the request to delete - if it's valid eg the posting of confidential data in error, then we will respond very quickly. Using the Report button in the post is absolutely the correct way of bringing this to the Moderators' attentions.
