Ok, maybe the worksheet can be hidden, for I do have several XLA files, without visible worksheets.
I even have one XLSB file, without visible worksheets, but I do not remember anymore how I made it.
You can hide an entire workbook, but you can't hide every sheet within a workbook (there is a difference ). Add-in workbooks are hidden workbooks (as is the Personal Macro Workbook, which is probably the xlsb you are thinking of).
To hide a workbook, open it, then choose View tab, then click Hide in the Workbook group. Remember to save the workbook when closing Excel.
