Hi,

I'm trying to resize the data labels in my chart so that the word Institutional appears on 1 line (It's currently on 2 lines) like the pic below:

but clicking the corners of the data label and dragging it does not work for me. I click on the corners and nothing happens. Does anyone know how I can make the data labels bigger without getting the text cut off to the next line?

Hi,

I click on the corners and nothing happens

The size of the Text Boxes are correlated to the size of your chart.

Kindly click on the text box and choose "Format Data Labels" from the submenu, then choose "Text Box" and click the option "Resize shape to fit text".

Then resize your chart (make it bigger) till you get what fits your needs.

thanks to advise.

Hello Marella,

Unfortunately the controls do not work on labels.

The only options you may have are as follows:

1) Increase your chart size by making the chart bigger

2) Decreasing your font size of the labels

3) Abbreviate your label names.

Let me know if you find any other options.

Thanks

Office365: Select the data labels and under the Formatting pane, select Text Options. Deselect "Wrap text in shape". You should be good to go.
