How do I post a file?

I've seen people post files on some threads and was wondering how I can do this?

You can't attach files on this board. What you may have seen is screen prints, or links to files hosted elsewhere on the internet.

Sorry to be a weenie - but any good suggestions for where to post the files?

I'd like to contribute back some good an an example file

I would recommend NOT uploading files to a different site, if at all possible. Many of us, due to security concerns and restrictions, will NOT go to another site to download files. Also, sometimes those files "expire" on those sites, which can render the thread useless after a period of time.

If you can use the tools mentioned and do screen prints, it can easily be seen on the board and no one has to download anything to see what you are talking about.
