How do I hide the line in a combined stacked column and line chart?

Hey,

I have a chart with two sets of values: one in stacked column, the other a trend line that displays values over time.

The date on horizontal (x) axis goes beyond the most recent data point I have for the trend line but I wish to include it in the chart anyway.

The problem is that once the trend line gets beyond the point where it has data points, it becomes flat (at 0). I would like the trend line to cease after the point at which it has no more data points to chart.

I think there's something with OFFSET here but not sure.

Any help welcome! Thanks!

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
One way is to replace your empty trendline cells with the formula

=NA()

Those cells won't be plotted.

I think you can select and colour that part, but sure that not what you want, I recall that you can set an option not to plot empty values, but don't think that works on the trend line. if its fixed, you could always place a long background coloured shape over it

Putting: =NA() in the cells does not erase the remaining trend line (i.e. the part of the trend line for which there are no values yet, e.g. those replaced with =NA()
