... to a problem in a thread that is ostensibly resolved?
I assisted an OP with a question, and my solution seems to work. However, when I sent him the file as posted on the board, he got a funny answer in the spreadsheet. I received the file back from him and got the same funny answer, but by reentering one cell, the calculation works correctly.
As other users also responded, and gave better solutions, the thread is seemingly closed. I then posted the problem that arose in the same thread. As the OP's problem is resolved, I feel that this thread may not attract attention any more.
Should I have started a new thread, perhaps linking to the problem that arose in the original thread? I do not wish to appear to create a duplicate post. What is the decorum for this?
