Good-day,
I'm working on a small spreadsheet to analyse sales performance of some customers and I'm trying to compare the metrics for the last three years (2014, 2015, and 2016). What I would like to achieve is to show an UP, DOWN, or SIDEWAYS arrow indicating the trend of the numbers. I have thus far tried using the SIGN formula and it works - well sort of - but I think I may have done it wrong as the results is a bit inconsistent.
So what's the best way to calculate the trend between these values: 1000, 2000, 3000?
Here's what I've tried thus far: =SIGN(3000-2000-1000) and then I'm using the Icon Set conditional formatting to get the icons. Some help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
