Apologies if this is already answered somewhere else, I did look but couldn't see it.

How do I get a cell to display the difference between two other cells regardless of whether it is positive or negative.

For example if cell A1 is 1 and cell A2 is 10, if I tell excel to do A1 - A2 i would get -9, if i tell it to do A2 - A1 i would get +9.

What i require is the difference always to be positive so that when I add up all the differences I am unaffceted by any negative values.

Basically i just want every calculated cell to be a positive number.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
