Hello all, can you please help me to add a .zip extension to an Excel or Word file. Thanks

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
".zip" is usually not a valid file extension for Word or Excel files. It usually denotes a file which has been compressed by some utility such as Winzip (see http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm).
Are you asking how to compress a Word or Excel file using Winzip?

I am afraid I am not understanding you.
Are you trying to zip a Word and/or Excel file into a "zip" file?
Or are you trying to unzip a zipped file to get the Word or Excel documents contained within?

Take a look at the Winzip link I provided in post #2. If your computer does not already have the Winzip program, you can download it from there for free. That is a program you can use to zip files.

I do want to learn how to zip and unzip excel files
Generally these steps are required:
1. Change excel file extension to zip
2. Open that zip archive in your zip program
3. Drag the file you want to change out of the zip folder
4. Change that file, save it and drag it back (replace) to the same zip folder it was dragged out
5. Rename zip back to original extension

You can find more details on how to do it for changing the Ribbon here:
Change the Ribbon in Excel 2007 or Excel 2010
