I’m trying to sort an employee list by hierarchy but I don’t want to create a graphical org chart, I just want a list. Here is exactly what I’m trying to do.

I want to see, Employee Name, Title, what Building they are in, Desk ID, and if they are an Employee or a Contractor. The trick that I need to solve is I want to see this list by who reports to who. I’m hoping you can direct me to the right video to watch.
  • Julie, VP-1 / Buiding-1 / Desk-1015 / Employee
    • Bob, Manager / Building-2 / Desk-2019/ Employee
      • Kevin, Analyst / Building-2 / Desk-2012/ Employee
      • Sally, Analyst/ Building-2 / Desk-2013 / Contractor
    • Kate, Manager/ Building-7 / Desk 7034 / Employee
  • Bill, VP-2 / Building-3/ Desk-3027 / Employee

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
You have to start from reverse order of hierarchy in a table for rest you can create drop down lists in different columns

How many columns you need depends how deep you will need at the time of analysis...
