Hi Everyone,

I have a pivoit table and a date slicer on a sheet named "Date"

they all work great.

but I want to protect the page so the only thing someone can do is select a date from the slicer.
the problem is I can't work out how to protect the page and use the slicer without unlocking the slicer?
if the slicer is unlocked then anyone can move it around resize it etc and I can't have this as i work with a bunch of idiot.

please can someone give me the answer as I'm struggling to belive its not posible to lock down a page and still use the slicer?

Thanks

Tony

Hi Kamolga,
Thanks for your help, the link was very usefull I have found the answer I needed.
In case anyone else reads this this is a breff description of how to idiot proof you pivot table slicer.
step 1 set up slicers
step 2 right click on slicer and select properties.
step 3 find the part that says Disable moving and resizing and tick it.
Step 4 find the locked and untick it.
Step 5 protect sheet and only select the use pivot tables have nothing else ticked.

this make the whole sheet protected and no one can change anything without unlocking the sheet.
