How can I retain SQL user-friendly code

I am used to SQL on other platforms.

I like it laid out in a user friendly way with tab, new lines etc.

However, Access insists on re-formatting my SQL into a much less friendly format.

Can I stop access from doing this?

Any ideas?

What exactly do you mean?

How are you using the SQL in Access?

I am using Access 2000.
I click on "Queries" to generate queries.
I click on "New" to generate new query.
I click on Design View and often possibly SQL view.

However, regardless of whether I enter my query in "design view" or "SQL view" the code is subsequently made unfriendly to read in SQL.

I am used to viewing code in SQL mode and prefer it this way. I have used SQL for many years but not within the access environment.

Has this made thing clearer? Am I missing something?

As far as I know there just isn't anything you can do about it.

If you are writing SQL directly you can add in spaces etc yourself to make it more readable but I don't think the layout would be saved by Access.
