Please consider the attached image.
The horizontal axis labels are showing as numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) instead of labels:

My Axis Label range is pointing at: ='Sales Performance'!$Z$25:$Z$29
(which are the black cells holding the regions to display).
Why is Excel interpreting these labels as numbers on the chart?
