Hi,

I am a Excel Graph novice. I'm hoping this is simple.

In Cell B5 I have a figure of 800. In Cell B6 I have a figure of 200. I want to put this in to a Column/Bar chart but show just one Column.
So in total it goes up to 1,000, but it is split in to two amounts. One of 800, one of 200. In different colours.

I can only do the simple thing of inputting a Column Chart with tow columns side by side.

I can;t figure these graphs out!

Thanks for any help
James

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Try:
Select cells B5 & B6
Then on the ribbon
-Insert
-Column Chart
-Stacked Column (at this point you will have 2 side by side columns)
-Right click on chart
-Select Data
-Choose Switch Row/Column
-OK
-

Thanks I tried that, but it just moves the bars closer together and still in two separate bars
