I'm pretty new to this.
I want to create a worksheet with ticker symbols in column A and a date in column B. Querying yahoo finance I want a result in column C that gives the price (e.g. the closing price) of the stock in column A on the date in column B, without having to enter the symbol and date separately. I've managed to do this with a Google sheet using the google finance function, but cannot find a way to do this in Excel. The output of the google sheet fails on about 100- 200 results (#N/A)- it's a large workbook; I was hoping I wouldn't have to enter all those by hand.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
going to data >>> Getfromexternalsources >>>> Getfrom Web >>> type web address >>> select the data you want >>>> get links

That imports a table; I want a single value. Even so I don't see how I could automate this to use the symbol from Column A and the date in column B. I have about a years worth of weekly dates and 10- 15 symbols from each date. Every line is unique.
Thanks anyway.
