highlight columns in conditional formatting

I would like to highlight column B1:AF31 using conditional formatting.

If not conditional formatting- how to highlight column B1:AF31 based on weekdays. (I am currently working on Jan01 to Jan31).

You can use a conditional formatting formula:

=WEEKDAY(B1,2)<6

applied to the entire range when B1 is the active cell.
