Hiding Field Settings That are Filtered

I have searched everywhere for this and I am beginning to think that it is impossible. I am displaying all of the field settings above the pivot; however, I would like to hide one specific field item and have it remained filtered. I am doing this so that the end-user is not able to see or edit this field setting.

I know that I can hide the row that the item is located in but field items are going to be dragged and dropped so it is not a permanent solution. Removing the information from the source data is not an option either.

Does anyone have a solution?
