Hi all

Here is what I am looking to do:

when a store places an an order they place it for X amount of product, sometimes the store will place the order for 9 items or up to 16 items.

i have created a sheet that displays all 16 of those items on individual rows, but I don’t want a lot of dead space in the report if the store only bought 9 items, I know I can hide rows but wanted to see if anybody knew of any conditional formatting to make this automatic, I paste in a daily report onto another sheet that it references daily.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for looking!

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
I'm not sure about conditional formatting but a macro should be able to do what you want. Can you post a screen shot of what your data looks like? Section B at this link has instructions on how to post a screen shot: https://www.mrexcel.com/forum/board-announcements/127080-guidelines-forum-use.html Alternately, you could upload a copy of your file to a free site such as www.box.com. or www.dropbox.com. Once you do that, mark it for 'Sharing' and you will be given a link to the file that you can post here. Include a detailed explanation of what you would like to do referring to specific cells and worksheets. If the workbook contains confidential information, you could replace it with generic data.
