Hello Hivemind,

I have a very distant memory that there might have been an option in the old excel versions, where you could use the ;;;; ( 4 times the ; ) cell format to hide the formula in the formula bar.
As it seems the new versions do not have this feature anymore, but I am just wondering if I was wrong or it was an option before.

I would like to have something like this without having to lock the page as it is definitely available now.

Thank you

No, that only ever hid the contents in the cell (and it's 3 semicolons rather than 4). Worksheet protection is needed to hide the formulas themselves.

Thanks for the prompt response.
I know the ;;; option, but it only hides the value of the cell as you mentioned.

For an unknown reason I thought the 4 ; was an option long time ago, but then it seems I was wrong.

It's not something I have ever heard of, but maybe back in Excel 1.0 (or Visicalc) ;)

I was trying to think of a version older than I started with... :)
