I've been trying to set up a spreadsheet that will have one cell that pulls data from a list in a separate sheet, and another cell that transforms the pulled data in to a barcode. I've got the right font, I've played with various formulas and macros, but every time I get this Untitled - Wakerra's Sta.sh That weird looking comma thing is apparently a sort of abbreviation for the barcode, it prevents the whole thing from showing up. When I copy that cell and paste special, I get "¶B-12-1-002f¸". I've tried googling and searching for that odd little symbol at the end, but nothing comes back. What's even weirder, when I sent this spreadsheet to our tech for help, he was able to open the document and see the full barcode without an abbreviation. I'm suspecting this has something to do with the settings on my Excel, but I can't figure where the heck to fix it! Has anyone else seen this/know how to stop it??

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
I, too, am new to Mr. Excel but I did a quick search regarding the symbol. It is called a cedilla. Take a look at an ASCII chart for more assistance. As far as the format goes, take a look at the format on your tech's computer if that is possible one more time. Is there any barcode software installed on your tech's computer? It is worth a shot. I have had similar problems with some of the third party barcode software packages.
