Hi,
On my worksheet i type in a customers name in the cell A6
I then go to the cell B6 to complete the next set of values to input BUT when i leave the cell A6 a code checks to see if the customers name already already exists in column A.
If nothing is found i continue like you would BUT if the name exists the cell A6 turns red.

It is this code i wish to now find.
Right clicking on the worksheet tab doesnt show me what i think i should be looking for as i see no reference to the color red etc.

Any advice to help me find this code either by typing something in cell A6 etc.

I can then come back here to continue with it.

Thanks

Are you saying that the cell turns red, but you don't know how, or are you saying you want it to turn red?

Hi,

I type Fluff in cell A6 and when i leave that cell it then turns Red because unbeknown to me Fluff exists already in cell A100

I need to find where the code is that turns it Red.
Once found i will try to add a msgbox asking if i wish to be taken to the cell in question in this case A100

Hence need to find the code

Thanks.

Sounds like it could be conditional formatting

Spot on thanks, saved me time reading all the modules again.

Can you advise a code from here on now or do i need to start a new post ?

Ive deleted the Conditional Formating now.

So my new code should work like this.

Worksheet is called DATABASE
Cell where i would type the customers name is always A6
Once i leave cell A6 the code should check for a duplicate in only the Column range A6 & down the page.
If no duplicate is found then allow me to continue.
If a duplicate is found then show a msgbox yes / no asking would i like to be taken to that cell.
No just closes the msgbox where yes would take me to the cell where the duplicate is.

Thanks
