HELP with Polynomial Equation

I have calculated a Polynomial Trend Line with an Order of 5.

The R2 value = 0.9994

However I need some help to calculate the Y value based on the following formula


y = 1E-07x5 - 3E-05x4 + 0.0022x3 - 0.0182x2 + 4.9966x + 2.2429


Sorry but Im unable to show powers so I will try and explain

the numbers after the "x" are powers


x values go from (1:111) currently so the last x value is 111 and the x value that Im attempting to calculate a value for is 112.

I am not sure what your issue is; whether a statistics or excel one.


If you are simply trying to substitute the value x=112 into your euation:

put the value of x (112) in A2 for example. Then in B2 type:


= 1E-07*(A2^5) - 3E-05*(A2^4) + 0.0022*(A2^3) - 0.0182*(A2^2) + 4.9966*A2 + 2.2429


This will be your Y value for x=112. You could change the value of A2 if you want a different value for x.


P.S. this sign ^ is a common one for powers.
