Help with pasting formulas using VBA

Currently doing a project at work, where I am making a standard document, people should be able to make changes to. I am therefore in a situation where I would like for the "Vlookup" function to be pasted. However when using:

rawpurchase.Cells(i, 6) = "=vlookup(E" & i & ",'PurchaseOverview'!A1:C" & nrowover & " ,3,False)"

I am only getting a #name in the field. When entering the field and pressing enter, the results shows. I have tried different solutions, however so far only search for “=” and replace with “=” works, but doing the exact same operation through a macro does not do the job. Also deleting “=” from the celland inserting “=” again, does not change anything either.
I would very much like to avoid anything like the use of send keys etc.
Any help would be much appreciated ?
 

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

Might seem like a strange question but is your calculation set to automatic?

Maybe the problem is the qoute signs. Also missing the ".Formula" on the left side of the equation.
Give this a try:

Yes it does. However the problem might be in the qoute signs? I a no sure excactly where the mistake is though?

It is an integer deciding where the table of values that the lookup function uses, is located. If for instance there are 10 rows, it runs from A1:C10.

But the lookup function works and gets me what I want, when entering the cell and pressing enter. So I dont think that is the problem. I might be wrong ?

Can you post the full code so we can see where the variables are defined please.

Last partthat is not runned, is doing the same as the vlookup should do, just withoutpasting the function.
