I am well experienced with complex Excel VBA and formulas, but just can't seem to get Solver to work the way needed.
If anyone has a good tutorial, tips or site to recommend, please share.

Problem: There are two independent variables that determine an output over time.
Date Acct Gold Silver
1/01/14 60,000 1,194 19.81
2/17/14 73,253 1,330 21.94
2/19/14 74,148 1,322 22.06
2/23/14 73,492 1,327 21.95
3/90/14 70,045 1,339 20.89
3/13/14 70,752 1,367 21.32
3/30/14 62,198 1,294 19.82
4/05/14 62,724 1,302 19.96
4/12/14 61,738 1,318 19.96
4/08/14 63,023 1,309 20.06
6/11/14 60,825 1,263 19.27

Example: The above represents sample dates, account total, and the spot price of Gold, Silver for this date.
The value is a basket of gold/silver mining stocks. Some mines have a mixture of both, some are pure play.

Given an outside set of summer inactivity, the announced of the London Silver Fix in August, real industrial inflation for materials, industrial silver premiums, and other indices:
The expectations of silver moving to for example $30 and gold moving to $1,400 poses an interesting formula. Excel Solver looks like it might help.

I just can't seem to get solver to do what is needed. Any suggestions, help or detailed example would be very appreciated.
