Help with making two DATE cells equal

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
This could be.
08/31/2019 =EOMONTH(TODAY(),-2)

But, this is different
08/31/2019 =TEXT(EOMONTH(TODAY(),-2),"mm/dd/aaaa")

Why do you convert it to text?

Ah yes, I understand now
That was the issue, thank you.

I was using the TEXT function to tidy up the final result but I also confused myself in the process :(
