Help with IF/THEN statement

Hello,

I am relatively new to IF/THEN statement use and would like to ask you excel gurus out there for some help with a formula I am trying to create.

I have several Distributors in which I have contracts with. These contracts consist of a "Revenue Sharing" percentage. For every incremental dollar I earn in revenue I pay them a percentage. I am creating a 3YR forecast and looking to forecast out the percentages of “Revenue Share”.

I have a column (C) that has the dates in which the contracts expire. I have another column (D) with the percentages of “Revenue Share”. I am trying to create a formula that says: IF the current date is before the expiration date of the contract (C) then fill cell with the “Revenue Share” percentage (D), if not leave cell blank.

Any help is very much appreciated.

it should look something like this:

=if("the contract (C)">today(),"Revenue Share” percentage (D)","")

the "the cont..." and "reven.." should be replaced by your or named range you have this data in.

Thank you kindly for your quick response. The formula you posted works perfectly =IF($C17>TODAY(),$D17,""). Unfortunately in applying the formula I realized I have underestimated the full scale of what I need for this formula to accomplish my goal:

I am forecasting the “Revenue Share” from 2012 to 2014 by Quarter. So in actuality TODAY date would not be appropriate; the date I would need to use is the quarterly date in the moving forecast which is displayed across the top columns of the spreadsheet in the format "3Q2012" for 3rd Quarter 2012 . At some point in the forecast the quarterly date will be greater than the “contract expiration date (C)” at which time I would like the cell to be blank and not populate the “Revenue Share %”.

Do you have any ideas of how to accomplish this? Thank you for your assistance.

I can also change the forecast from quarterly to monthly if it will make it easier to use the dates. I appreciate the help.
