Help with greater than

Hello all,
I am trying to create a formula that will figure out which cell has a greater number between 4 cells and enter the greater number in a different cell. TIA

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Sort by date Sort by votes
It would be helpful if you provided a sample example and the expected outcome.
Secondly, what version of Excel are you using?

I'm sorry, I can't upload an image. I'm on my work computer. Basically, if I've got 100 in cell A1, 101 in cell B1, 102 in cell C1 and 103 in cell D1. I'm looking for a formula that will but the greatest number in cell E2.

Just use the MAX function, i.e. put this formula in cell E2:
Excel Formula: 
=MAX(A1:D1)
