Hello,

I tried to make this post yesterday, but I cannot seem to find it. Maybe I posted it wrong. Anyway... thank you for taking your time to read this post.

Recently, all macros (even just using ctrl+w to close excel) is not working. I keep on getting the error mentioned on the header, and I cannot even get to the VBA to check what reference might be missing, as excel just crashes before that.

What can I do? Could reinstalling Excel altogether fix this?

Thank you all! Please let me know what additional information you might need to delve into this a bit deeper.

Cheers
Bacon

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Can you open a brand new workbook and get look at the VB editor references there?

Hello Rick!

No, I cannot even open a blank workbook and try to go to the VB Editor.
Hmm, that sounds bad. Before reinstalling Excel, I would try repairing it first. In my copy of Windows 8.1, I would open the Control Panel, select Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (Excel was installed along with other Office products on my computer) and click the Change item in the "option bar" immediately above the program name list... that brings up a dialog box where Repair is an option you can select.

I will try to get my IT department to do that. What I also saw is that if I open the file on a separate computer, it does not run into any issues.
