Hi
I'm new to excel & teaching myself.
I have a simple expenses spread sheet where I have 2 columns but need to use which ever column total is higher in another cells sum.
example if column b total is higher than column a then I want to use column b total in my sum elsewhere in the sheet
any help much appreciacated :)

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Take a look at the MAX function,
Something like the example below:
Excel Workbook
ABCD
14812
220
Sheet

my example pic might help me explain better.
I want the cell quoting actual spend to be the result of column A if it is higher than B
