Hi I've linked an excel document within a word document saved on my Sharepoint site, but now I need to remove it and link a different excel document. I tried deleting the table (excel document within word) but when I closed the word document and reopened it, it gives me the normal "update link" message ("This document contains links that may refer to other files. Do you want to update this document with the data from the linked files?"). I clicked yes to see what it would do and it updated the excel document back into the word doc.
